NEW YORK, Feb. 1, 2011 - The New Jersey Nets signed guard Orien Greene of the Utah Flash for the seventh GATORADE Call-Up of the 2010-11 NBA Development League season. Greene's call-up increases the number of current NBA players with NBA D-League experience, including players currently on assignment to their NBA D-League affiliates, to 88.

Utah's leading scorer, Greene averaged 18.0 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.1 assists and 2.0 steals in 24 games (all starts). Greene has scored in double figures in all but one of his games this season, and is among the league leaders in scoring average (8th), steals per game (7th) and minutes per game (36.3, 7th).

The Boston Celtics drafted Greene (6-4, 210) in the second round (53rd overall) of the 2005 NBA Draft. From 2005 to 2008, Greene appeared in 128 games with the Boston Celtics, Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings, carrying averages of 2.5 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 12.1 minutes. After playing his first two collegiate seasons at Florida, Greene finished his college career at Louisiana-Lafayette, averaging 11.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 2.6 steals in 42 games with the Ragin' Cajuns. As a senior in 2004-05, Greene's 2.8 steals per game ranked first in the Sun Belt Conference, and he was named the Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Year.

Greene is expected to join the Nets today, and should be available when New Jersey hosts Philadelphia tomorrow at Prudential Center.
