WEEKEND SWEEP - Wichita claimed six points on the weekend and pushed its winning streak to four games. The Thunder started out on the road Friday night, defeating Tulsa at the BOK Center and ending its five-game road trip. Wichita finished 3-2-0 during that span. On Saturday night, Wichita returned home for the first time in three weeks and won 3-2 over the St. Charles Chill in come from behind fashion. A repeat performance was needed on Sunday as the Thunder trailed 2-0 before scoring five unanswered goals en route to a 5-2 victory.

MILESTONE - Jon Booras reached the 500-point plateau on Saturday night with his second-period goal. He eclipsed the 500-game mark in Arizona before Christmas and has points in his last six outings (5g, 7a). The Billings, Montana native extended his point-streak yesterday with an assist on Ian Lowe's power play goal and closed out the scoring with an empty-netter. He had a season-high four assists on Friday night against Tulsa.

100 - Matt Robinson collected an assist yesterday afternoon to extend his point-streak to six games (4g, 9a). He is one goal shy of 100 for his Thunder career scoring on Saturday night. Robinson would be just the fifth player in team history to hit the century mark. He collected back-to-back game-winning goals over the weekend and now has 24 in a Thunder uniform. He is one point shy (176) of moving ahead of Daniel Tetrault into eighth place all-time in a Thunder uniform.

SEE-SAW - The Thunder blue liners are looming large at the top of the leaderboard for points scored by defensemen. Wichita has three of the top 7 scoring blue liners to this point in the season. Jesse Dudas and Andrew Martens continue to challenge each other and flip flop back-and-forth between one and two. Currently, they are both tied with 24 points in first place as Dudas has eight goals and 16 assists. Martens has five goals and 19 assists. Mike Wilson is tied in seventh place with 16 points (3g, 13a).

SPECIAL TEAMS - The Thunder power play netted two goals last night and has recorded goals in the last six games. Over that stretch, Wichita is 8-for-25, operating at 32%. Overall, the Thunder is 31-for-137 and operating at 22.6%. The Penalty killing unit moved up above 80% and killed off all four Chill chances last night.

BETWEEN THE PIPES - Taylor Nelson has been solid in net over his last four starts. Dating back to his win in St. Charles on December 14th, Nelson has earned victories each time he has gotten the call. He had a solid performance on December 21st in Arizona in a 5-1 win, stopping 27 of 28 shots he faced. He followed that up with a 8-2 victory over Tulsa this past Friday, stopping 25 of 27 shots. Yesterday, Nelson got the win against St. Charles, stopping 19 of 21 shots as the Thunder came back for the 5-2 victory. Over that stretch, he has gone 4-0-0 with a goals against average of 1.50 and a save percentage of .941.

CHL FINALS REMATCH - Wichita travels to Allen on Tuesday for the second time this season. The Thunder has not seen the Americans since Opening Weekend when the two teams split in a home-and home series, with the visiting team winning 4-3 in a shootout in both games. The Americans added former Thunder forward Greger Hanson in mid-November to add to an already heated rivalry and re-signed playoff MVP Brian McMillin over the weekend. Wichita added David Brown to its roster after Thanksgiving, who started the season in Allen before being let go in favor of Mark Guggenburger. Needless to say, New Year's Eve may be coming early at the Allen Event Center.
