Shane Owen Claims Goaltender of the Week for 4th Time this Season

INDEPENDENCE, Missouri - Mavericks' goaltender, Shane Owen, has been awarded his fourth Oakley Goaltender of the Week title by the Central Hockley League.

Owen previously received this honor in weeks three and four of the season, as well as last week in week ten of the season. This is Owen's second back-to-back acknowledgment by the Central Hockey League.

The Shanty Bay, Ontario native won both of his starts against the Rapid City Rush this past weekend, making 21 saves on Thursday night during the Mavericks' 4-2 victory over their league-leading rival, followed by 24 saves on Friday night in the Mavs' 4-3 triumph.

Owen (16-4-4) has held steady near the top of the league goaltenders, currently ranked 2nd with a 2.37 goals against average and a .922 save percentage.

The Missouri Mavericks return home for their New Year's Eve match-up with the Tulsa Oilers on December 31st.
