Wichita's Matt Robinson Named Oakley CHL Player of the Week

GLENDALE, AZ (December 30, 2013) -The Central Hockey League announced today that Wichita Thunder forward Matt Robinson has been named the Oakley Central Hockey League Player of the Week for the period ending December 29, 2013.

Robinson helped his team to a perfect 3-0 week scoring game winning goals in two of the three wins. The veteran finished with three goals and three assists on the week with a +4 plus/minus rating. Robinson had two goals and an assist in Friday's 8-2 win in Tulsa and then followed that up with the third period game winner in Saturday's 3-2 win versus St. Charles. On Sunday, the Surrey, British Columbia native had an assist in Wichita's 5-2 win over the Chill.

On the season, Robinson has a team-leading 14 goals and sits fourth on the Thunder with 23 points (14-9=23). Wichita, thanks to the strong play of the veteran, has won nine of their last 13 games.
