TAKE FOUR - Wichita took four out of a possible six points last week for the first time this season. Oddly enough, each game finished with the same outcome. In fact, the three meetings between the Thunder and the Beast have all been decided by the same score of 3-2 as well as Saturday night's shootout final at Missouri. The first meeting between Wichita and Brampton on November 1st was a 3-2 decision that the Beast took.
MILESTONE - Andrew Martens played in his 500th game this past Saturday. He added two assists at Missouri and now has 103 helpers in a Thunder uniform which moved him into fourth place all-time for Thunder defenseman. He is also approaching 300 points for his career as he sits at 288 (61g, 227a). Martens is currently riding a seven-game point streak (2g, 8a) and has assists in six-straight games.
WILD WEST - Jon Booras has been on a tear as of late in the goal scoring department. He has recorded goals in three of his last four games after being held without a tally through the first 14 games of the season. The Billings, Montana native has points in his last four games (4g, 2a) including his first two-goal outing of the season on Saturday night at Missouri.
ON POINT - Jesse Dudas has also been filling up the point column. The St. Albert, Alberta native has points in his last seven games and assists in the last four (2g, 7a).
100 - With seven more goals, Matt Robinson will become just the fifth player in team history to record 100 goals in a Thunder uniform and only needs two more to move into fifth place past Mark Karpen.
POWERING THE O - Over the last six games, Wichita has scored 13 goals and eight of those have been with the man advantage (8-for-32 25%). On the road, Wichita has been impressive operating at 27% (10-for-37), which is number one in the league. Overall, the Thunder power play unit is number two, scoring 21 goals on 99 chances and operating at 21.2%.
CLOSE CALL - Wichita has played in 11 one-goal contests and is 3-4-4 in those games. Last year, the Thunder was 12-5-8 in games decided by just a goal. Only St. Charles has played in as many one-goal contests as the Thunder this season.
