LAST WEEK - Wichita returned home last week after a two-game stint on the road. The Thunder played Quad City on Tuesday night, losing by the final of 4-1. On Friday night, the Thunder traveled to Oklahoma to face the Oilers. In front of a record crowd of 16,759, Wichita knocked off Tulsa by the final of 4-1. The team returned home on Saturday night and lost to Missouri, 8-2. Wichita finished the weekend on the road at Missouri on Sunday and claimed a 5-3 win against the Mavericks.
OB - Zach O'Brien had a great week for the Thunder. He finished with three points on Friday night, scored back-to-back goals on Saturday and added an assist on Sunday afternoon. The St. John's, Newfoundland native has six points (2g, 4a) in his last three games.
CAREER HIGH - Louick Marcotte recorded his 16th goal of the season on Friday night. He needs one more to set a new career high in goals, which he set last year in Adirondack. He has already set a new career high in assists (19) and points (36).
SHOOTING GALLERY - Wichita has hit the 30-shot mark in three of the four games this past week and has fired 30 or more shots on net in 14 of the last 15 games. The Thunder are ninth in the league in shots for per game (32.72).
LOWE PLACES - Ian Lowe recorded a goal and an assist yesterday, giving him 208 points in Thunder blue. He needs seven points to reach 30, which he has accomplished in each of the last four years with the Thunder.
FIRST TIMER - Wichita won last Friday night at the BOK Center. It was the first win for the Thunder on the road against the Oilers in the StoneWolf Casino Cup Series. Wichita faces the Oilers twice this week with one coming at home on Tuesday night and finishing up the season-series at Tulsa on Saturday evening.
RESCHEDULED - Wichita and Allen will face each other twice this week. Sunday's game, which is the final day of the regular season, is a rescheduled contest that was moved from March 8th to April 9th.
THUNDERBOLTS... Vincent Arseneau is tied for fourth with five shorthanded points and tied for first with four shorthanded goals...Wichita is fifth in the league in shorthanded goals (12)...Wichita is third in the league in penalty minutes per game (18.49)...Wichita is tied for second to last in games past regulation (10)...Wichita is 14-2-2-1 when leading after two...Wichita is 8-12-1-0 when tied after one...Wichita is 8-14-4-0 when outshooting its opponent...
