
Kalamazoo Wings to Face Toledo Walleye in First Round

KALAMAZOO, MI- The Kalamazoo Wings will face the Toledo Walleye in the opening round of the 2017 Kelly Cup Playoffs, beginning on Friday, April 14 at the Huntington Center in Toledo.
The entire schedule for the best-of-seven Division Semi-Final between the Wings and Walleye is as follows:
- Friday, April 14 @ Toledo, 7:35 p.m.
- Saturday, April 15 @ Toledo, 7:35 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 18 @ Kalamazoo, 7 p.m.
- Wednesday, April 19 @ Kalamazoo, 7 p.m.
- Friday, April 21 @ Toledo, 7:35 p.m. (if necessary)
- Sunday, April 23 @ Kalamazoo, 3 p.m. (if necessary)
- Tuesday, April 25 @ Toledo, 7:35 p.m. (if necessary)
Each division will have four representatives in the postseason, with the top seed in each division playing the bottom seed, and the second and third ranked teams squaring off in the first round. The winner of the Kalamazoo and Toledo series will meet the winner of the Fort Wayne and Quad City series.
Kalamazoo and Toledo have never met in the ECHL playoffs, and the two teams have met just once in their respective franchise histories during the post season. The Toledo Goaldiggers defeated the Kalamazoo Wings in a best of three quarterfinal series during the 1984 IHL playoffs.
