Adirondack's Ward Named CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month

PRINCETON, N.J. - Adirondack Thunder forward Brian Ward has been named the CCM ECHL Rookie of the Month for March.

The 25-year-old scored eight goals and added nine assists for 17 points in 11 games during the month.

Ward picked up at least one point in each of his 11 outings and had four multi-point games including a hat trick on March 12 against Brampton and three assists on March 18 against Wheeling.

A native of Haverhill, Mass., Ward is tied for 15th among ECHL rookies with 44 points (25g-19a) in 46 games. He has added one assist in eight games with Albany of the American Hockey League.

Prior to turning pro, Ward recorded 70 points (27g-43a) in 112 career games at St. Lawrence University and had 85 points (39g-46a) in 122 career games with Tri-City of the United States Hockey League.

Runners Up: Connor Bleackley, Missouri (9 gp, 5g, 7a, 12 pts.) and Simon Denis, Toledo (12 gp, 3g, 10a, 13 pts.).

Also Nominated: Mike Cazzola (Fort Wayne), Nick Bligh (Indy), Steven McParland (South Carolina) and Colin Martin (Utah).
