Thunder to be Honored at Yankee Stadium Tonight

(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder will be honored on the field at Yankee Stadium prior to tonight's game in recognition for their participation in New York Yankees HOPE Week.

The Yankees nominated their affiliates for the President's Volunteer Service Award, given "in recognition and appreciation of commitment to strengthening the Nation and for making a difference through volunteer service." The awards are bestowed by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation in conjunction with the Corporation for National and Community Service.

Asim Mishra, Chief of Staff of the Corporation for National and Community Service, will present the award to Trenton Thunder General Manager Will Smith and Director of Community Relations Patience Purdy. The ceremony will take place at approximately 6:45pm and the game against the Chicago White Sox will begin at 7:05pm.
