OF Abraham Almonte Hits DL; RHP Farquhar Designated

Trenton Thunder News Release
(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced Friday that OF Abraham Almonte has been placed on the disabled list with right hamstring soreness. Also, RHP Danny Farquhar has been designated for assignment by the Yankees and is off the Trenton roster. Almonte, named to the Eastern Division All-Star team yesterday, leads the league in stolen bases (30) and is second in runs scored (45).
Farquhar spent one day on the Thunder's active roster and did not appear in a game before being designated. The Louisiana-Lafayette product pitched in three major league games in 2011 with Toronto.
