July 8, 2009 - Robstown, TX --The Coastal Bend Thunder announced today the signing of outfielder Carlos Rodriguez. Rodriguez was drafted by the Boston Redsox in the 1998 amateur draft out of the University of Louisville and played in their organization through 2002. In 2005, he played in the Houston Astros organization with the Corpus Christi Hooks.
"He adds another power hitter to our line up to go along with Ventura and Mejia," said Thunder manager Al Gallagher. The Thunder have been busy this week with the addition of pitchers J.J. Trujillo and Frank James. "We're in second place and we think these moves will keeps us in contention for the playoffs," Gallagher said.
