Thunder Partner up with Wichita Dream Center to Raise Money for Believe in Christmas Event

December 7, 2011 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Wichita Thunder News Release

Wichita, KS- The Wichita Thunder is pleased to announce its partnership with the Wichita Dream Center to help raise money to provide gifts for the less fortunate in the Wichita area. Last year, the Believe in Christmas event gave away 500 bicycles and 1,000 gifts to children who would have not had something for the holidays. During the Thunder game on Saturday, December 10th, a portion of the ticket purchase made through the Thunder office will go towards the Believe in Christmas fund.

"There isn't a better way to give back to the community," said Sherri Penka, Community Relations Director of the Wichita Thunder. "Considering the current economy that we are in, we are proud to help provide Christmas for many less fortunate children who may not get something this year and I am glad to be partnering with the Wichita Dream Center." To help with this great cause, please call Sherri Penka at (316) 264-GOAL.

Wichita heads on the road to play the Allen Americans this Thursday at 7:05pm and will stay in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to visit the Texas Brahmas on Friday night at 7:30pm. Saturday is Teddy Bear Toss night. Bring a new stuffed animal and throw it on the ice when the Thunder score its first goal. The stuffed animals are then donated to local charities and delivered by the Thunder players to less fortunate children around the Wichita area. For tickets to Saturdays game against Texas, go to the INTRUST Bank Arena box office, call 755-SEAT or go to www.selectaseat.com.
