Trenton Thunder News Release
(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees, announced today that OF Noah Hall has been named the 2009 Samuel Plumeri, Sr. Community Service Award Winner and that IF Chris Malec was named the Hamilton Jewelers Fan Favorite Award Winner. They were presented the awards in an on-field ceremony prior to the game against New Britain on Monday evening at Mercer County Waterfront Park.
Hall has been an active participant in the Thunder's Grand Slam We Care Foundation activities. On the field, Hall has appeared in 55 games for the Thunder and is batting .246 with 3 HR and 29 RBI (entering play on 8/31).
"Noah has done all we asked of the players this year - he's made appearances in the community, coached at our youth clinics, caught first pitches before games and signed as many autographs as anyone," said Thunder General Manager Will Smith.
Hall joins Brad Tweedlie (1999), Marty McLeary (2000), Josh Garrett (2001), Mike Griffin (2002), Brian Myrow (2003), Jason Grove (2004), Ben Julianel (2005), Jason Brown (2006), Jason Jones (2007) and Joe Muich (2008) as winners of the Sam Plumeri Sr. Community Service Award.

He is second on the team in hits with 113, tied for third in doubles with 21, tied for fourth in home runs with 8 and third in RBI with 49 (all stats are entering play on 8/31). Chris was an Eastern League All-Star and member of the Thunder's Eastern League Championship team in 2008. He also spent time at Triple A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season.

"We are happy to have them as part of the Thunder and it's been our privilege to have them as part of our organization. We are lucky to have partners like Hamilton Jewelers to share in this award."
The Samuel Plumeri Sr. Community Service Award winner is chosen by Thunder Management while the Hamilton Jewelers Fan Favorite winner is chosen by fan voting at the AAA Guest Services Center at Waterfront Park and online throughout the season.
The Thunder 2009 home portion of the regular season is now complete but the team will conclude the schedule on the road. The 2009 Eastern League playoffs will begin on Wednesday, September 9. It is still to be determined if the Thunder will reach the post-season for a fifth year in a row.
