(Trenton, NJ)- Gary Burnham and Angel Chavez had four hits apiece to pace Reading Phillies to a 10-2 win over Trenton on saturday night in Eastern League play.

Reading (22-32) did their damage in the late innings as they scored eight runs in their last three at-bats. They broke a 2-2 tie in the 7th Inning with an RBI double by Burnham, one of four doubles on the night for the Phils LF, to take a 3-2 lead. CF Michael Bourn and 3B Joey Hammond added RBI hits later in the inning for a 5-2 lead. Reading added four more runs in the 8th Inning, including an RBI bunt hit by Bourn and a two-run single from RF Matt Padgett, to take a 9-2 lead. Burnham added another RBI double in the 9th Inning for their final run.

Burnham finished the night with three runs scored and three RBI. Chavez scored four times as he reached base all five times he came up to the plate. Thunder starter Tyler Clippard (2-7) took the loss allowing four runs on six hits in 6 2/3 innings.

The only runs for Trenton (28-28) came on a two-run homer by 1B Randy Ruiz in the 4th Inning off Reading starter Tim McClaskey. Reliever Nick Evangelista (1-0) got the win in relief with 1 2/3 shutout innings of work.

Trenton and Reading wrap up their series on Sunday at 1:35 PM. Shawn Chacon starts for Trenton on a rehab assignment from the N.Y. Yankees. Zach Segovia (3-1, 3.00) starts for Reading.
