Harrisburg Senators News Release
he Harrisburg Senators announced today that OF Prentice Redman has been signed by the Washington Nationals and assigned to the Senators. To make room on the roster for Redman, OF Ender Chavez was sent to Potomac.
Redman was originally drafted in the 10th round of the 1999 draft by the New York Mets. Prior to this season he had spent his entire career in the Mets organization. He reached the major leagues with the Mets in 2003, appearing in 15 games batting .125 with a HR and 2 RBIs. He spent this season in the Cardinals organization with Memphis (AAA) and batted .268 with 1 HR and 8 RBIs.
Chavez batted .143 in 22 games with the Senators. He had a couple of RBIs and one double. Chavez started the season with Potomac batting .250 with 8 RBIs before being promoted to Harrisburg.
With the moves today, the Senators roster stands at 23 active players.
