Altoona Curve News Release
CURVE, Pa. - Tuesday evening's series opener between the Curve and Trenton Thunder at Peoples Natural Gas Field has been postponed due to rain. The game will be made up on Wednesday, June 13 as part of a doubleheader beginning at 5 p.m.
Fans who had tickets to Tuesday night's (June 12th) contest at Peoples Natural Gas Field can exchange them for any other remaining 2012 Altoona Curve game for equal or lesser value based on availability.
The Curve and Thunder will now open their series on Wednesday with a 5:00 p.m. first pitch for the doubleheader, and both games on the night will be seven-inning contests. Wednesday is jam-packed at the ballpark on a WALY Four-Pack Wednesday with Cresson Community Night and Postgame Fireworks. The series opener is also a Silver Steamers Club Day presented by Homewood at Martinsburg and a Kids Club Day presented by Galliker's Dairy. Kids Club members are invited to wear crazy hats and hair for Wednesday's twinbill, and following the games, they and Silver Steamers Club members will get to run and stroll around the bases.
Altoona will send right-hander Phil Irwin (0-3, 4.19) to the hill in Wednesday's opener opposite Trenton's right-hander Mikey O'Brien (3-1, 3.34). Game two will feature Altoona and Trenton's originally scheduled Tuesday night starters, righty Tim Alderson (3-2, 3.09) for the Curve against Thunder left-hander Vidal Nuno (1-1, 0.41). Game two will be played 30 minutes following the conclusion of game one.
Airtime for Wednesday's twinbill at Peoples Natural Gas Field is set for 4:30 p.m. on ESPN 1430 and the Curve Radio Network. For tickets and more information, call 877.99.CURVE, visit AltoonaCurve.com or stop by the box office at Peoples Natural Gas Field.
