SERIES AT A GLANCE: Following an off day yesterday, the Flying Squirrels return to action against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in the opener of a three-game series at The Diamond tonight. On Sunday afternoon, the Flying Squirrels struck for four runs in the eighth inning and posted a 4-3 comeback victory over the Portland Sea Dogs at Hadlock Field. Mark Minicozzi belted a three-run home run off Portland reliever Josh Fields, which tied the game at 3-3. Later in the inning, Ryan Cavan delivered an RBI double that plated Ehire Adrianza and gave the Flying Squirrels a 4-3 lead that they would not relinquish. Brett Bochy (4-2) tossed two innings of scoreless relief and matched his career-high with four strikeouts en route earning his fourth win of the season. Austin Fleet worked a scoreless ninth inning to pick up his third save of the season. The win enabled Richmond to avoid a series sweep in the three-game set with the Sea Dogs and complete its six-game road trip with a 3-3 record. The Flying Squirrels went 2-4 against New Hampshire in 2011 including an 0-3 mark in the River City. Richmond is 6-9 all-time against the Fisher Cats, including the 2011 ELCS, which New Hampshire won in four games. Richmond is 1-6 all-time against New Hampshire at The Diamond, including the 2011 ELCS. The two teams will meet six times in 2012, three times in Manchester and three times in Richmond. The Flying Squirrels took two out of three from the Fisher Cats in Manchester last week.

TODAY'S PITCHERS: RHP Andy Reichard vs. RHP Deck McGuire Reichard: Makes his ninth appearance and fifth start of the season for the Flying Squirrels tonight. In his last start, Reichard did not allow a hit and recorded a season-high four strikeouts in three scoreless innings at New Hampshire Wednesday. His outing ended prematurely when rain forced a suspension of the ballgame after three innings. Reichard did not return when play resumed the following day and he received a no-decision in Richmond's 3-0 setback. Tonight's game will be Reichard's second career start against the Fisher Cats. He is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA against New Hampshire. The right-hander spent the entire 2011 campaign with Advanced-A San Jose. He went 9-4 with a 3.38 ERA in 28 appearances, including 15 starts. Reichard split the 2010 campaign with San Jose, where he went 2-1 with a 6.57 ERA in seven relief appearances, and Low-A Augusta, where posted a 6-1 mark with a 3.39 ERA in 16 appearances, including 13 starts. He has a career record of 24-15 with one save and a 3.32 ERA in 97 appearances, including 51 starts. He was selected by the Giants in the 13th round of the 2007 June Draft out of Georgia College & State University.

McGuire: Makes his thirteenth start of the season for the Fisher Cats tonight. In his last start, McGuire allowed six hits and six earned runs along with two walks and four strikeouts in five innings pitched against Richmond Thursday. He took the loss in Richmond's 6-3 triumph. The right-hander split the 2011 season between Advanced-A Dunedin and New Hampshire. He went 7-4 with a 2.75 ERA in 19 appearances, including 18 starts, with Dunedin and was a Mid-Season All-Star in the Florida State League. After being promoted to New Hampshire, McGuire went 2-1 with a 4.35 ERA in four appearances, including three starts, with the Fisher Cats. Tonight's game will be his fourth career start against Richmond. He is 1-1 with a 7.07 ERA against the Flying Squirrels. He has a career minor league record of 11-12 with a 4.24 ERA in 35 appearances, including 33 starts. He was selected by Toronto in the fi rst round of the 2010 June Draft out of Georgia Tech.

MARVELOUS MARK: Mark Minicozzi is swinging a hot bat of late. On Sunday afternoon, Minicozzi went 1-for-3 and smacked a three-run home run off Portland's Josh Fields in the top of the eighth inning, which knotted the game at 3-3. Richmond would add another run later in the frame to complete a 4-3 comeback win. In the three-game set at Portland, Minicozzi went 5-for-10 (.500 AVG) with a home run, two doubles and four RBIs. Minicozzi is in the midst of a five-game hit streak and he is batting .467 (7-for-15) during this stretch. The former East Carolina standout rejoined the Giants organization on May 4. He began his career in the Giants system after San Francisco selected him in the 17th round of the 2005 June Draft. After missing the 2008 season due to injury, Minicozzi spent the past three seasons playing in several independent leagues.

DYNAMIC DUO: Middle infielders Ehire Adrianza and Ryan Cavan have provided a strong defensive presence in Richmond's infield. Adrianza leads the Eastern League in fielding percentage for shortstops (.981) and has committed just five errors in 260 chances. Cavan leads all second basemen in the circuit in fielding percentage (.997) and he has committed just one error in 336 chances. Together, they have helped Richmond lead the circuit in double plays with 71.

BEARING DOWN: Starter Mike Kickham has thrived since the calendar turned to June. In two June starts, Kickham is 1-0 with a 0.69 ERA (1 ER/13 IP). On June 2, the former Missouri State Bear tossed a seven-inning complete game shutout against Erie, in which he struck out a season-high eight batters. On June 8, he allowed just one earned run in six innings pitched at Portland.
