NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TX- The Wichita Thunder lost 2-0 to the Texas Brahmas at the NYTEX Sports Centre on Sunday evening.

Texas took a 1-0 lead at the 4:28 mark in the first period on a power play goal from Tyler Skworchinski. Skworchinski scored on a one-timer in the slot after receiving a centering pass from Elias Godoy that came from behind the net. The Brahmas increased their lead to 2-0 when Mark Kolanos fired a puck that squeezed under the left corner of the net at 5:24.

Brahmas' netminder Joe Palmer earned a 39-save shutout in the win. Scott Campbell saved 24 of 26 in the tough loss. Wichita was 0 for 6 on the power play, while Texas was 1 for 8. Wichita's 17 second period shots tied a season-high. Chris Kovalcik and Jay Henderson both picked up fighting majors.
