Ramsay's Game-Winner Gives Odessa A 4-3 Win

(Odessa, TX) - Mike Ramsay scored a pair of goals, including the game-winner, as the Odessa Jackalopes topped the Arizona Sundogs on Sunday evening at the Ector County Coliseum by a 4-3 final. The win extends Odessa's winning streak to seven games.

Torren Delforte tied the game at 3-3 for Arizona at 11:25 of third period, before Ramsay netted the game-winner at 12:35 on a centering feed from Kenny Bernard.

Arizona opened the game's scoring with a goal from Jason Reese at 8:16 of the first period. Odessa answered back with a pair of goals to a take a 2-1 lead. Mike Ramsay, on a breakaway, slipped one between the legs of Kyle McNulty at 14:20 for his 10th of the season. Collin Circelli then deflected Paul Kelly's shot from the point in the net for Odessa for his 14th of the season. Odessa led entering the intermission.

Both teams traded goals in period two. Alex Dunn made it a 3-1 lead for the Jacks with a wrist shot between the circles 33 seconds into the period during a four-on-four situation. Kevin Gardner pulled the Sundogs back to within one with a power play goal from between the circles at 15:42. It was a 3-2 score, favoring Odessa, after two.

Joel Martin stopped 33 shots to earn his 13th win of the season. The Jackalopes record improved to 23-4-3.

The Jackalopes continue their homestand on Thursday night with a New Year's Eve battle against the Texas Brahmas. Game time is set for 7:05 PM. The Jackalopes will wear specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game at a New Year's Eve party held in Building G of the Ector County Coliseum to ring in 2010.

The Odessa Jackalopes are the Central Hockey League affiliate for the NHL's New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers.
