RHP Darrell Rasner has been added to the Trenton Thunder roster on a Major League Rehab Assignment. Rasner pitched last night for Staten Island in the NY-Penn league playoffs. he worked 5.0 IP and allowed 2 R. He suffered a fractured right index finger in May during a start against the New York Mets.
Rasner has appeared in a total of eight games this season, six with the New York Yankees. For New York, Rasner was 1-3, 4.01 ERA. He worked eight shutout innings for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre during April and earning one win.
The Thunder will host Game #1 of the Eastern League Championship Series tonight at 6:05 PM. Tyler Clippard (2-1, 5.40) will start for Trenton against Akron's Adam Miller (0-0, 18.00).
