Wichita Thunder News Release
WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder made yet another move today acquiring forward Louis-Philippe Martin from the Tulsa Oilers for future considerations.
A third-year pro out of Montreal, Quebec, Martin has been a big scorer over most of his junior and pro career. A ninth round draft choice of the Buffalo Sabres in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft (266th overall), Martin spent his four-year junior career with the QMJHL's Baie-Comeau Drakkar and Drummondville Voltigeurs. In 255 games, he notched impressive totals of 119 goals and 282 points.
Martin turned pro in 2005-06, splitting the season with the UHL's Roanoke Valley Vipers and Flint Generals. In 69 games, he registered 25 goals and 72 points. He split last season between the CHL's Arizona Sundogs and Trois Rivieres of the NAHL, before joining the Oilers this season, where he had five points in 15 games. To make room for Martin, the Thunder released forward Sean Roulston.
The Thunder will return to action on Wednesday when they face the Austin Ice Bats at 7:38 p.m. The Thunder will return home this weekend to host the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Friday and Saturday at 7:05 p.m. For more information or to order tickets, call the Thunder office at (316) 264-GOAL or visit our website at www.wichitathunder.com.
