The Bucks come into Wednesday's game on a bit of a slump, losing five of their last six, games including two in a row at home.
Last week Bucks head coach/GM made four roster moves, trading for former Youngstown defenseman Gord Burnett, and signing free agent center Derek Legault, and free agent defenseman Gabe Yeung. The Bucks traded away forward Jeff Genovy (Youngstown), Brent MacSween (Texas), and goaltender Kevin Beech (Youngstown). Burnett, Legault, and Young played over the weekend.
Laredo is coming off of a hard-fought 2-1 loss in Bossier on Saturday night. The Mudbugs scored Daniel Pegoraro scored the game-winner with just 3:09 remaining in the third period. Matt Summers scored the only Bucks goal early into the third period. John Ceci set aside 26 of 28 Bossier shots in suffering the tough-luck loss.
Jeff Bes leads the Bucks in scoring with 64 points (26-38=64), which puts him fourth in the CHL.
Laredo practiced in Corpus Christi Monday and Tuesday, due to the LEC's ice being put back in.
The Rage come into Wednesday's game in the midst of a seven game road trip, having gone 1-2 so far during a three-game series in Youngstown.
Rocky Mountain holds a six point lead over Colorado in their division, and trail Bossier by three points for the top spot in the league.
Cullaton leads the Rage in scoring with 66 points (12-54=66), and as of Monday is tied for second in the CHL, three points behind Arizona's Alex Leavitt. Daymen Rycroft and Scott Wray each have over 50 points for the Rage, with Rycroft having 58, and Wray totaling 52.
Rocky Mountain flew from Youngstown to San Antonio Monday, where they practiced before heading to Laredo.
The Bucks and Rage met on November 16th in Broomfield, with Rocky Mountain Jumping out to a 4-0 lead, before winning the game 4-1. All four of the Rage's goals came in the second period.
On Wednesday night the Bucks will hold their third annual adopt-a-pet night at the LEC. The Laredo Animal Protective Society Shelter will be on hand with several dogs and cats up for adoption.
The Laredo Animal Protective Society Shelter is located at 2500 Gonzalez St.
in Laredo. Over the past two seasons, including summer open houses, more
than 70 animals have found new homes.
Once again adoption fees will run $70 for dogs (any size, any age any breed),
which includes their first 3 booster shots. The same is included with the
Adoption of Cats, except the fee is $45. All animals are bathed and dipped when they arrive at the shelter. For more information on the Laredo Animal Shelter
contact them at (956)-724-8364.
After Wednesday's game the Bucks will host Mississippi on Friday night, and Tulsa on Saturday night.
