
Leavitt Wins CHL Performance of the Week

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs, in conjunction with the Central Hockey League today announced that All-Star forward Alex Leavitt has won the Week 14 CHL Performance of the Week with his hat trick in the 2008 CHL All-Star Game in Broomfield, Colo. on Wednesday, Jan. 16.
Leavitt's hat trick along with his two assists helped the Southern Conference to an 11-6 win over the North, its first win in five tries and was good enough to earn All-Star Game MVP honors. Leavitt's performance garnered 667 votes (26%), beating out Tyler Redenbach's six points and record-tying five assists by just one vote.
New Mexico's Andrew Martin was the game's winning goaltender with a 22 save performance in the third period, earning 639 votes (25%) in the poll. The number of fans that voted in the poll totaled 2,529.
