New Mexico Scorpions News Release

[ RIO RANCHO, N.M.]-The New Mexico Scorpions have made multiple roster moves due to the injuries sustained over the last road trip. Jason Schultz has been signed while Jay Holladay and Andrew Smale have been placed on the 14-day injured reserve.

"With our current situation I felt Jason would be a good addition for tonight's game," said head coach Randy Murphy.

Holladay and Smale both suffered upper body injuries in the game Friday against Odessa. In his rookie season Holladay has appeared in 39 games picking up four assist and 38 penalty minutes.

Smale is in his second season with the Scorps and has been an anchor on the blue line. In 33 games this season the versatile defenseman has scored 13 points (7G, 6A) and amassed 28 penalty minutes.
