Sundogs Make Adjustments at Goaltender Position

PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. - The Arizona Sundogs Hockey Club of the Central Hockey League today announced it has signed netminders Robert McVicar and Scott Talbot, traded Bill Zaniboni to the Wichita Thunder in exchange for future considerations and waived goaltender Andrew Gallant.

McVicar was a fifth round selection (151st overall) of the Vancouver Canucks in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft. The 6-foot-4, 201-pound netminder has skated professionally in the East Coast and American Hockey Leagues, including an appearance during the 2005-06 season with the NHL's Vancouver Canucks. McVicar was acquired from the Youngstown SteelHounds in a trade for future considerations on Jan. 25.

The Brandon, Manitoba native spent four years with the Brandon Wheat Kings of the Western Hockey League before turning pro. In 147 games with Brandon, McVicar compiled a 3.05 goals against average (GAA) and a .892 save percentage (SV%). In 163 professional appearances, the 26-year-old netminder has tallied a 2.97 GAA and a .911 SV%. McVicar most recently played with the ECHL's Utah Grizzlies and in 59 appearances collected a 3.72 GAA and .896 SV%.

Talbot, 24, most recently played college hockey at the University of Calgary of the CIS. In 109 games with the Dinos, the Calgary, Alberta native compiled a 40-52-6 record with a 3.25 GAA and a .898 SV%.

Bill Zaniboni played in 22 games for the Sundogs, tallying a nine wins, six losses and two overtime losses with a 3.69 GAA and a .892 SV%.

Andrew Gallant appeared in 24 games for Arizona this season, accumulating a 14-6-2 record with one shutout, a 3.24 GAA and a .896 SV%.
