Wichita, KS - The Wichita Thunder, proud member of the ECHL and powered by Toyota, announced this afternoon that the team has acquired forward Domenic Alberga from the Fort Wayne Komets for cash considerations.

Alberga, 23, comes to Wichita after appearing in 13 games for the Komets recording

seven points (2g, 5a). A native of Maple, Ontario, the 6-foot-1, 209-pound rookie center broke into the pro ranks last year with the Greenville Road Warriors. He played in 13 games, recording four points (3g, 1a). He re-signed with Greenville at the start of the season and was then traded to Fort Wayne in November.

Prior to turning pro, Alberga played four years in the OHL from 2009-13 with Brampton, Sarnia and Kitchener. Following his final season with the Kitchener Rangers in 2012-13, he attended Ryerson University of the CIS for a two-year stint. In 53 career games, he collected 75 points (36g, 39a) and was named to the CIS All-Rookie Team and Rookie of the Year in 2013-14.

Wichita heads on the road for the next three games starting Friday night in Utah at 8:05 p.m. CST.
