
Three Toros Named To Gatorade All-League Selections

AUSTIN, TX - Marcus Williams, Malik Hairston and Dwayne Jones were named 2008-09 GATORADE All-League Selections today by the NBA D-League.
Williams, a 6-7 forward, has appeared in 45 games this season for the Toros, averaged 23.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 5.3 assists.
Forward Malik Hairston, who is currently on assignment from the San Antonio Spurs, was named D-League Honorable Mention along with center Dwayne Jones. Hairston has appeared in 27 games this season and is averaging 21.2 points and 5.4 rebounds. Jones, a 6'10, 250-pound forward from St. Joseph's (PA), is averaging 15.7 points and 12.4 rebounds.
Along with being named as an All-League First Team Selection today, Williams was named NBA D-League Co-Performer of the Week for games played the week of March 30, 2009. Williams averaged a triple-double with 27.5 points, 10.5 rebounds and 11.5 assists. Williams recorded his first triple-double of the season on Saturday when he scored 29 points, grabbed 14 rebounds and dished out 13 assists in a win over the Iowa Energy.
Five NBA Development League players with NBA experience make up the 2008-09 GATORADE All-NBA D-League First Team, including Iowa center Courtney Sims - the 2008 NBA Development League's Most Valuable Player currently playing for the New York Knicks - Dakota guard Blake Ahearn, Albuquerque guard Will Conroy, Erie forward Erik Daniels and Austin forward Marcus Williams.
