Band Competition Voting Begins

HIDALGO, TEXAS - The NBA D-League Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced today that fan voting has begun at rgvipers.com in the competition to become the "Official Band of the RGV Vipers" and win a $5,000 award.
The choices are:
Hidalgo High School (Jan. 14)
McAllen High School (Jan. 20)
Nicky Rowe High School Jazz Band (Jan. 21)
La Joya High School (Feb. 26)
Harlingen High School South Jazz Band (Mar. 3)
Nicky Rowe High School Percussion (Mar. 22)
"This is a friendly competition, and all of these great high school bands are deserving of the honor. I hope our fans will help us to make the decision," Vipers President and General Manager Brian Michael Cooper said.
The winner will be announced at halftime of the Vipers' final home game on Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at Dodge Arena. Doors open at 6:00 and the opponent will be the Austin Toros.
Tickets are still available and can be purchased in advance through TicketMaster or by phone at 1-888-RGV-NBAD (748-6223) or 956-972-1144. Tickets can also be purchased at the Dodge Arena box office.
Fans can also get one free ticket for every four non-perishable food items they donate at either the Dodge Arena box office or any of the 17 Walgreens locations in the Rio Grande Valley as part of the "Hoops Against Hunger" Food Drive, of which Border Media Radio is also a partner, benefiting the Food Bank RGV.
