LAST WEEK'S GAMES

April 2 at Iowa Energy - Colorado won its seventh straight game with a 130-121 victory at Iowa. Seven 14ers scored in double figures as the team posted at least 30 points in all four quarters. John Lucas led Colorado with 24 points on 10-14 shooting off the bench. Josh Davis and Joe Dabbert added 22 apiece in the win.

April 3 at Tulsa 66ers - Kyle Weaver's tip-in in the final second ended the 14ers seven game win streak as Tulsa took a 121-119 victory on its home court. Colorado hit on 14 3-pointers and was led by 28 points from Josh Davis in the loss. Eddie Gill added 23 points and seven assists in defeat.

The 14ers have topped the Power Rankings on www.nba.com/dleague for five consecutive weeks.

With every win Colorado adds to its new single season franchise high.

The 14ers have qualified for the D-League playoffs in each of the three seasons the team has existed.

Billy Thomas has connected on 53 3-pointers this season, and is now the D-League leader for career three pointers made with 316.

The 14ers continue to lead the D-League in scoring averaging 118.2 points per game.

Colorado also leads the D-League in per game averages for field goals made and attempted, three pointers made and attempted, offensive rebounds, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocked shots.

Dominique Coleman leads the D-League with 2.8 steals per game.

Josh Davis is tenth the league in scoring at 19.2 ppg, and ranks fifth with a .878 free throw percentage.

Davis and Trey Gilder both rank in the top 11 in the D-League in points per 48 minutes played.

Joe Dabbert is sixth in the league with 1.3 blocks per game.

Eddie Gill's 8.7 assists per game is tied for second in the D-League.

Gill leads the 14ers with 15 double-doubles this season.

Colorado has compiled the D-League's best record despite not having any player in the top 25 in minutes per game.

NBA D-LEAGUE PLAYOFF FORMAT

- Eight teams will qualify for the postseason.

- Qualifying are three division winners and the five teams with the best records, regardless of division.

- The three division winners will select their first round opponent from the teams ranked five through eight.

- The top-seeded division winner will select first, with the second and third ranked division winners following.

- The fourth seeded team will play the remaining team.

- The first and second rounds will be one game each, while the Finals will be a best-of-three series.

- The first two rounds will be played on the higher seeds home floor.

- The Finals will begin at the lower seed's arena and finish at the higher seeds home court.

NBA DEVELOPMENT LEAGUE ANNOUNCES 2008-09 GATORADE ALL-LEAGUE SELECTIONS

NEW YORK, April 6, 2009 - Five NBA Development League players with NBA experience make up the 2008-09 GATORADE All-NBA D-League First Team, including Iowa center Courtney Sims - the 2008 NBA Development League's Most Valuable Player currently playing for the New York Knicks - Dakota guard Blake Ahearn, Albuquerque guard Will Conroy, Erie forward Erik Daniels and Austin center Marcus Williams.

Two members of the Bakersfield Jam, guard Trey Johnson and forward Derrick Byars, earned spots on the GATORADE All-NBA D-League Second Team. The duo from Bakersfield is joined by Colorado forward Josh Davis, Fort Wayne center Chris Hunter and Anaheim guard James White, who is playing for the NBA's Houston Rockets.

The GATORADE All-NBA D-League Third Team is made up of Colorado guard Eddie Gill, Utah forward Ronald Dupree and Idaho center Lance Allred and a pair of Charlotte Bobcats, guard Dontell Jefferson who was called-up from Utah and forward Cartier Martin who was called-up from the Iowa Energy.

In all, 13 of the 15 players selected to this year's First, Second, and Third All-NBA D-League teams by a vote of the League's 16 head coaches have NBA experience, while seven earned GATORADE Call-Ups this season.

"With so many talented players in the League this year, it was a challenge for our coaches to select the All-League teams," said Chris Alpert, vice president of basketball operations and player personnel for the NBA D-League. "The League congratulates the First, Second and Third team selections, as well as the honorable mentions, for their sensational seasons."

14ers Playoff Tickets On Sale Saturday

Broomfield, Colo. - The Colorado 14ers announced today that single-game tickets for the first round of the 2009 NBA Development League Playoffs will go on sale this Saturday (April 4) at 10 a.m.

The 14ers currently have the best record in the D-League with seven games to play in the regular season, and have set a new franchise record for wins this season.

"I'm thrilled to have our organization in the playoffs and it's a great accomplishment on our team's part," said 14ers Head Coach and General Manager Bob MacKinnon. "I'm excited for our fans to come out and see what is currently the best team in the D-League compete for a championship."

The NBA D-League has adopted a unique playoff format this season that will allow the three division winners to pick their first round opponents from the 5-8 seeds in the postseason. The first round begins the week of April 13.

Playoff ticket prices remain the same as the regular season featuring $5 kids tickets (12 years and under) and $10 student tickets (with ID). Adult tickets range from $14-$44.

Broomfield residents (with ID) can also come to the box office for a special $5 ticket price for the first round game.

The 14ers are in action tonight at Iowa and tomorrow at Tulsa before closing out the regular season home schedule against Albuquerque on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

NUGGETS RECALL WEEMS

The Denver Nuggets have recalled G/F Sonny Weems from the Colorado 14ers of the NBA Development League, team Vice President of Basketball Operations Mark Warkentien announced today.

Weems, who was re-assigned to the 14ers on March 6, has averaged 20.4 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 2.9 apg and 1.05 spg in 19 outings during two separate stints for Colorado this season. His second stint with the 14ers was highlighted by several big games, including a 36 point (15-22 FG), nine rebound outburst at Erie on March 27.

Weems was selected by the Chicago Bulls in the second round (39th overall) of the 2008 NBA Draft before being traded to Denver for a 2009 second-round draft pick. In 10 games for the Nuggets this season, Weems has averaged 1.3 ppg in 4.1 mpg.
