
Three Sand Gnats Selected to SAL All-Star Team

Savannah, GA - Eric Krupa, president of the South Atlantic League, has announced the rosters for the 56th Annual SAL All-Star Game, scheduled to be played on June 23, 2015, at McCormick Field in Asheville, North Carolina, home of the Asheville Tourists. Three Sand Gnats have been selected to represent the SAL Southern Division in this year's All-Star Game. Pitchers Casey Meisner and David Roseboom and infielder Jonathan Johnson will represent Savannah.
Meisner, 20, is 5-1 this season with the Gnats. The Cypress, TX native currently ranks fourth in the SAL with a 1.88 ERA (12 ER/57.1 IP). The right hander has made nine starts this season and totaled 49 strikeouts. Meisner's last outing came on June 2nd, when he tossed a career-high 8.1 innings on the road against Asheville.
Roseboom, 23, has appeared in 18 games for the Sand Gnats in 2015. The left hander holds a record of 3-0 with four saves and a 1.40 ERA (4 ER/25.2 IP). The Pattersonville, NY native has allowed runs in just two of his 18 appearances this season.
Johnson, 26, is currently second in the SAL with a .324 batting average. The native of California is also tied for second with .410 on-base percentage. Johnson was hot in the month of May with a .375 batting average, which ranks him fourth in Single-A baseball for the month.
A variety of events have been scheduled in Asheville along with the SAL All-Star Game. On Tuesday, June 23rd, Gates open at 3:00pm at McCormick Field, where fans will have the opportunity to get autographs from and pictures with the SAL All-Stars. A Home Run Derby will begin at 5:35 pm and the first pitch of the 2015 All-Star Game is scheduled at 7:35 pm.
