Three-Run Ninth Inning Rally Gives Rox 7-6 Win Over Nashua

NASHUA, NH- A furious three-run ninth inning rally pulled the Rox from the hands of victory and gave them a 7-6 come-from-behind win against the Pride at Holman Stadium in Nashua. The win was the first in 18 games for Brockton when trailing after eight innings. 2B Eugene Julien and C Jason Radwan each had three hits and an RBI for the Rox, and Radwan and 1B Francisco Lebron each extended their hitting streaks to 12 games. Nashua's RF Jayson Bass had three hits including a HR in his Pride Debut. The Rox had 14 hits in the game and have scored 18 runs on 36 hits in the series. The Rox have won six of their last seven with the Pride and nine of 12 in the season series, while Nashua has dropped their last six games.

Radwan drove home a run with a single in the first, but Nashua scored four times against Rox RHP John Boker. DH Mark Hamilton's double cleared the bases in the frame and gave the Pride a 4-1 first inning cushion. The Rox cut into the lead in the second with and RBI single by Julien. Trailing 5-2 into the seventh, Lebron doubled off the center field wall, plating a run, and cutting the deficit to 5-3. After a Bass HR made it 6-3 Nashua, the Rox scored a run in the eighth on a SS Mike Scanzano RBI single.

Trailing 6-4 into the ninth inning, Nashua stuck with closer RHP Derrick DePriest. He walked DH Guye Senjem and Lebron, while Radwan pounded his third hit of the night into left to load the bases. 3B Mike Torres had an infield single to score the fifth run, while LF Simon Williams and Scanzano drove home the tying and go-ahead runs with fielders' choice groundouts. Koch allowed a leadoff walk but pitched a scoreless ninth inning for his ninth save.

The Rox and Pride square off in game three of the set tomorrow at 7:05 PM as RHP Joey Baker (2-3, 3.96 ERA) faces LHP Mark Hamilton (4-5, 4.68 ERA) of Nashua.
