American Defenders of New Hampshire News Release
(Nashua, NH, July 28, 2006) Nashua Pride officials announced that the Wednesday, Aug. 2 game versus the North Shore Spirit at Historic Holman Stadium will be Tabitha Davies Night. For every ticket sold, $3.50 will be donated to Tabitha and a 75/25 raffle will also be held the night of the game to raise additional funds.
After recovering from six hours of surgery removing a malignant brain tumor, Davies is now facing radiation and chemotherapy treatment. The Pride would like to be able to assist the Mason, NH resident on her road to recuperation as she struggles to pay off debts and medical bills.
Pride general manager Robin Wallace comments on the fundraiser night: "To provide a venue like a baseball park for the surrounding community to rally behind is where the Pride fit perfectly. One of the primary objectives of our baseball club is to help local causes and Tabitha Davies' story is something that really hit home for all of us in the front office."
Tabitha Davies' mother, Deb Morrison, comments about the Pride's support: "It means a lot to us to have the Pride offer their assistance to our daughter. Not only is the sport of baseball uniquely and wholly American, but so is the ability of people to help one another when the situation calls for it."
The Nashua Pride, entering their first year of play in the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball, play their home games at Historic Holman Stadium. Prior to joining the Can-Am League, the Pride played for eight seasons in the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, winning the 2000 Atlantic League championship.
