New Jersey Jackals News Release
MONTCLAIR, NJ (July, 2006) The New Jersey Jackals have announced the team will celebrate "Hispanic Heritage Night" during the August 4, 2006 game vs. the Worcester Tornadoes at 7:05 p.m. To celebrate the event, all Jackals players will be wearing World Baseball Classic shirts representing their home country. In addition, the team will be hosting a wealth of activities for fans of all ages and will be highlighting popular Latin music throughout the evening.
Montclair resident and educator Ruth Kunstadter has added an extra touch to the evening as well. Kunstadter has created a lesson plan for Spanish education in the Montclair school district. Last year, her company, Chispa Productions, filmed a video featuring the New Jersey Jackals' Hispanic players entitled "La Chispa de BeÃsbol." The team will be raffling off several copies of the video. Also, all children entering the stadium on the 4th will receive a baseball activity page that they can complete and will encourage learning of Spanish vocabulary.
"We are so grateful to play for such a diverse community like Montclair and its surrounding townships," said Director of Group Sales Brooke Kenna. "Hispanic Heritage Night gives the New Jersey Jackals an opportunity to celebrate that diversity by honoring the rich history and traditions of the Latin culture. We look forward to celebrating the heritage of our fans and players during this exciting promotion."
As part of the independent Can-Am league, the Jackals host 46 exciting games against the Brockton Rox, Nashua Pride, New Haven Cutters, North Shore Spirit, Les Capitales de Québec, Worcester Tornadoes and new rivals, the Sussex Skyhawks. Standard game times are 7:05 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 2:05 p.m. on Sundays.

Full and partial ticket packages are available, as well as group tickets, and can be reserved by calling the front office at 973-746-7434. The Jackals play their home games at Yogi Berra Stadium, located on the grounds of Montclair State University. Yogi Berra Stadium opened in 1998 as the first top-of-the-line stadium in the Can-Am League. The stadium, which is flanked by the Yogi Berra Museum and Learning Center on its first-base side, has quickly earned the reputation as the home of champions as the Jackals have won four championship titles in eight years.
