May 19, 2016 - Texas League (TL1)
Frisco RoughRiders News Release

FRISCO, TEXAS - The Texas Rangers have named three RoughRiders as the organization's Minor League players of the month, with Ryan Cordell (player), infielder Isiah Kiner-Falefa (defender), and left-handed pitcher Ryne Slack (reliever) each earning honors.

Cordell, 24, hit .363 with nine doubles, five home runs, and 22 RBI over 21 games in the season's opening month. He reached in each one of those games as part of his active 36-game on-base streak and had a 17-game hitting streak that continued into early May. In addition to his honor with the Rangers, Cordell was also named the Texas League's Player of the Month for April.

Kiner-Falefa, 21, was sensational all over the field for the RoughRiders in April. He committed just one error in 20 games, while making starts at third base (12 games), catcher (four games), shortstop (three games), and second base (one game). The four starts at catcher were the first of his career.

Slack, 23, held a 2-0 record in 11 1/3 scoreless innings in April out of the Riders bullpen, while also earning a save. At one point, he had a 12 1/3-inning hitless streak, spanning between April and May.

The RoughRiders next return home on Friday, May 20 to begin a four-game series against the San Antonio Missions. The homestand begins with Magic Night on the 20th, featuring Michael Grandinetti, and Saturday is Military Appreciation Night at Dr Pepper Ballpark. Tickets for those games, and the other two games of the homestand are available now online at RidersBaseball.com, via email at info@ridersbaseball.com, over the phone at (972) 731-9200, or in-person at the RoughRiders box office.
