
Three Nuts Selected to All-Star Game

The California League has announced the roster for the 2005 California League - Carolina League All-Star Game to be held in Frederick, Maryland on June 28th. Modesto Nuts outfielder Joe Gaetti was one of four California League outfielders named to the squad. Gaetti is batting .272 with 9 home runs and 35 RBI.
Gaetti will be joined by two pitchers: starter Ubaldo Jimenez and reliever Jim Miller. Jimenez, one of the top prospects in the Colorado Rockies system, is 3-2 with a 4.30 ERA. He has 54 strikeouts in 52 innings pitched this season. Jim Miller is currently second in the California League with 14 saves.
In addition to the three All-Stars, the Modesto Nuts coaching staff will also represent the California League in Frederick at the end of the month. Nuts manager Stu Cole will manage the California League All-Stars. He will be joined by hitting coach Glenallen Hill and pitching coach Butch Hughes.
This will be the 9th time the California League and Carolina League have met in the mid-season. The series is tied 3-3 with two ties.
