MISSOULA, MT - The Missoula Osprey (24-21) won their second-straight game on Thursday night at Ogren Park at Allegiance Field, defeating the Great Falls Voyagers (18-26), 7-4. SS Liover Peguero, CF Dominic Canzone, and 3B Marty Herum all homered, combining for five of the seven Osprey runs.
Missoula starter Tyler Poulin (W, 3-2) dominated his seventh start of the season, allowing one run on three hits in five innings, striking out four.
Herum began his weekend rehab assignment on a positive note, getting the scoring started with a two-run homer in the 1st inning. After a Voyagers run scored in the top of the 3rd , Canzone knocked his fifth long-ball of the season in the home half, coming with two outs in the inning.
Great Falls could only hold the Osprey off the scoreboard until the 6th , when a Liover Peguero solo homer made it a five- run lead, coming as the third O's round-tripper of the night.
The O's ran aggressive on the base pads, with second baseman Cam Coursey stealing a base, and right-fielder Tristen Carranza stealing two.
Osprey catcher Axel Andueza had the only multi-hit night, ending his night 2-4, scoring twice.
Despite three runs scored by the Voyagers in the final three innings, right-hander Mitchell Stumpo struck out one batter in two innings, finishing the night on the mound for the O's.
The Missoula infield remained solid, turning three double plays after nine innings.
The Osprey continue Space Weekend in their out-of-this-world jerseys with Jacks Pub Friday Night Party on August 2. Gates open at 4:00 with $2 Mystery Beer and $3 Micro Brews on tap, and the first 750 fans receive a commemorative 20th Anniversary Osprey T-Shirt.
All Osprey game tickets can be purchased at the MSO Hub Box Office, located at 140 North Higgins in Downtown Missoula, online at MissoulaOsprey.com and by phone (406) 543-3300.
