Three Missions Named To Texas League All-Star Team

San Antonio - San Antonio Missions first baseman Nate Freiman and catcher Ali Solis have been chosen as Southern Division All-Star starters in the 2012 Texas League All-Star Game while infielder/outfielder Dean Anna has been named as a reserve.

Freiman is currently hitting .286 (71x248) in 63 games with 15 doubles, 15 home runs, 52 RBI and 33 runs scored. The 25-year old native of Wellesley, MA is second in Double-A in RBI and tied for second in homers while ranking second in the Texas League in HR per at-bat (1/16.5), third in total bases (131) and extra-base hits (30) and fourth in slugging percentage (.528).

Solis, a 24-year old native of Mexicali, Mexico, is hitting .292 (49x168) with 13 doubles, a triple, four home runs, 25 RBI and 15 runs scored in 45 games. He currently leads all Texas League catchers in average, doubles and RBI. Solis, will be making his second consecutive All-Star appearance; he was the starting backstop for the South in last year's game in San Antonio.

Anna has appeared in 59 games for the Missions at five different positions and is hitting .295 (52x176) with five doubles, two triples, five home runs, 23 RBI and a team-high 35 runs scored. His .423 on-base percentage is the second-best in the Texas League and the third-best in Double-A. The 25-year old native of Mokena, IL is making his first ever All-Star appearance.

As defending Texas League champions, the Missions will have the honor of having their coaching staff guide the Southern All-Stars.

The 76th Texas League All-Star Game will take place on Thursday, June 28 in Tulsa, OK.
