Elmira Jackals News Release
ELMIRA, NY - October 26, 2016 - The Elmira Jackals, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Buffalo Sabres and the AHL's Rochester Americans, announced today three players have been recalled to the Americans. Forward Justin Kea, defenseman Brycen Martin and goalie John Muse will all join the Amerks before their trip to St. John's. All three players were in training camp with Rochester before being assigned to the Jackals.
Kea, 22, goes back to Rochester where he has appeared in three games this season, putting up an assist. He has also played in three games with the Jackals since being reassigned to Elmira on Oct. 21, but he has not recorded a point. The third-year-pro has split the previous two seasons with Rochester and Elmira, appearing in 62 AHL games and 55 ECHL games.
Martin, 20, is in his first professional season, appearing in three games with the Jackals since being assigned to Elmira Oct. 21. The Sabres third round pick, 74th overall, in the 2014 NHL Draft has not played in a regular season game yet for the Amerks.
Muse, 28, was assigned to the Jackals at the end of training camp and he has been terrific in two starts in Elmira. He is 2-0-0 with a 1.44 goals-against average and a .963 save percentage, stopping 77 of 80 shots he faced in two games. He made 39 saves on 40 shots in the Jackals 2-1 shootout win over the Adirondack Thunder last night. The Boston College product saw action this preseason with the Sabres.
