Three-Goal Third Period Lifts Seattle Past Tri-City in Red Lion Tournament

KENNEWICK, WA - Backed by three goals in a four-minute span, the Seattle Thunderbirds rallied for a 3-1 victory over the host Tri-City Americans in Game 3 of the Red Lion Hotels Pre-Season Tournament in Kennewick. The loss was the first for Tri-City this pre-season (3-1), while the T'birds improve to 2-2.

Tri-City led off the scoring in the contest, as rookie Spencer Asuchak picked up an unassisted goal on Seattle starter, Jacob DeSerres, midway through the first period.

Despite holding onto their 1-0 lead through the second period, Seattle erupted for three goals in four minutes to secure the win. Brenden Dillon, Jeremy Boyer and Colin Haas all registered goals on Tri-City goalie Chet Pickard, who entered the game at the half way point, relieving starter Drew Owsley.

Up next for Seattle is the Portland Winter Hawks, as the two rivals will battle it out in the afternoon game of the Red Lion Hotels Tournament at Toyota Center. Tri-City will follow-up that game against the rival Spokane Chiefs. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
