Canes Take OT win in Ice Breaker

Lethbridge, AB - Colton Sceviour tallied two goals including the game winner Saturday to lead the Hurricanes to a 3-2 OT victory over the Prince Albert Raiders in the Canes second game of the Ice Breaker preseason tournament in Saskatoon. Carter Bancks tallied an unassisted goal to open scoring for the Canes while Ben Wright and newcomers Derek Ryckman and Alex Theriau each added an assist. Brandon Anderson notched the win for the Canes with a 22 save performance. The Ice Breaker tournament wraps up for the Canes tomorrow as they take on the Moose Jaw Warriors before returning to Lethbridge.

Reminder: Hurricanes/United Way Preseason Tickets!

Lethbridge, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes are very proud to partner with the Lethbridge United Way for the Canes only preseason date of the 2008-2009 season. The new look 'Boys from the Bridge' will take to the ice on Saturday, September 13th at 7:00 PM for a match up with the Kootenay Ice. All proceeds from this charity event will go to support the Lethbridge United Way.

Tickets are selling now for $10 a piece and are available at the United Way office (1277 3rd Ave South) or at various participating business sponsors including:

- Sobeys (Uplands and Scenic Square)

- KFC (All locations)

- Evergreen Golf Centre

- Pizza Hut

- Humpty's (Scenic Drive)

Season Ticket Holders should also note, this game day will be your first opportunity to pick up your season ticket packages for the 2008-2009 season. The "Meet the Hurricanes" Breakfast for Season Ticket Holders will take place the morning of Saturday, September 13th, 2008 9:00am to 12:00 noon. Season ticket holders can pick up their ticket packages inside the ENMAX Centre while the Hurricanes Board of Directors will be serving up some tasty bacon, sausage and eggs.
