Three Former Steamwheelers Saw Action in AFL's Week Seven

DAVENPORT, Iowa — Three former Quad City Steamwheelers saw the field this past weekend in the AFL. Headlining the group was Dennison Robinson of the Las Vegas Gladiators. The wide receiver/defensive back recorded five tackles on defense in a 79-62 loss to the San Jose SaberCats.

Defensive specialist Brent Browner and offensive/defensive lineman Jamarr Ward contributed for the Austin Wranglers in their 70-58 win over the Detroit Fury. Browner recorded two tackles on defense and Ward added a tackle.

Several former af2 coaches have joined AFL teams and more than 175 players have advanced to the AFL over the past three years.

Several players have moved on to the NFL from the af2 including the ‘Wheelers standout defensive rush end in 2003, Asa Francis, who last month signed with the Buffalo Bills to play in NFL Europe this spring.
