Florida Firecats News Release
Estero, FL- The Florida Firecats are very pleased to announce that Dave Leval will handle all of the play-by-play responsibilities for the 2004 season.
Dave is a morning anchor for the local ABC affiliate station in Fort Myers. Prior to moving to southwest Florida, Leval, a huge Arena Football fan, lived in the quad cities, home of the Steamwheelers. He was then working for WQAD-TV where he covered the Steamwheelers. Before living in the quad cities, Leval lived in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he followed the Carolina Cobras. He first covered arenafootball2 in the 2000 inaugural season when he covered the Tallahassee Thunder for WTWC-TV.
Dave first began doing play-by-play while attending the University of West Florida in Pensacola, where he called the games for WCOA-AM. He later became a reporter for a local television station.
"I am a huge Arena Football fan, and I look forward to sharing it with you as the new voice of your Florida Firecats," the anxious Leval told Firecat management.
Leval is taking over a position that became available when Tom Abraham left southwest Florida to become an announcer for the University of Alabama Crimson Tide and the arenafootball2's Tennessee Valley Vipers.
Hear the new voice of the Florida Firecats every Saturday night at 7:30 on ESPN 770 AM (Fort Myers), starting on April 10! Get your season tickets now by calling the Firecats at (239) 390-2287!
