Wichita, Kan. - The Wichita Stealth announced today that they have been assigned wide receiver/defensive back Brian Livingston (6-2, 212, Grambling). Livingston will begin his second season with the Stealth and his fourth season in arenafootball2. Following the 2003 season Livingston was signed by the Grand Rapids Rampage of the Arena Football League.
In 2000 with the Jacksonville Tomcats, he was named to the all-af2 first team as a defensive specialist and runner-up for the league's defensive player of the year award. He finished the 2000 season with a league best 11 interceptions and totaled 115 tackles (60 unassisted) and 31 pass defenses.
In 2002 with the Tomcats, he played in ten games and compiled 50 tackles (31 unassisted), two interceptions, and ten pass defenses.
Livingston played in 14 games for the Stealth in 2003. He began the season as a defensive specialist and then moved to a two-way player in the middle of the season when the Stealth lost some players to injury. Livingston was named ADT Defensive Player of the Week in week #13 for his performance in the Stealth victory over the Arkansas Twisters. In that game, Livingston had nine unassisted tackles, one assisted tackle, two forced fumbles, and three interceptions, one of which was returned 18-yards for a touchdown.
Defensively, Livingston amassed 70 tackles (44 unassisted), four interceptions, and 12 pass defenses. Offensively, Livingston finished the 2003 season with 19 receptions for 184 yards and two touchdowns. He also added eight carries for 15 yards and three touchdowns.
STEALTH NOTES: The Stealth will kick-off the 2004 season on April 3rd at the Kansas Coliseum when they take on the Peoria Pirates.
