
Three Crushers Named to All-Star Game

Lake Erie Crushers News Release
The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy Health, will have three All-Stars for the 2018 Frontier League All-Star Game taking place on July 10th & 11th at CarShield Field in O'Fallon, Missouri, home of the River City Rascals. The Frontier League officially announced Monday afternoon the 2018 All-Star Rosters, three of which from the Crushers.
Dane Hutcheon:
Hometown: McKinney, Texas. College: Montevallo. Drafted in the 29th round by the Twins. Hit .365 in 53 games for the Falcons. Three home runs and 43 RBIs in 2016. 2016: Signed by the Minnesota Twins in June 2016. Played in the GCL (Rookie) and hit .216 with 21 hits. 2017: Played for the Fort Meyers Miracle (A-Adv) and in the GCL. Played just 17 games in 2017. Released in March of 2018.
Aaron Hill:
Hometown: Groton, Connecticut. College: UCONN. 2017: Played through a wrist injury that limited him to 30 games. Batted .174, scored 21 runs and posted a .333 OBP. 2016: Made 59 starts and hit .210 as the second baseman. Played summer ball with the Mystic Schooners for three straight summers. 2016: Hit .308 with 25 RBIs in 40 games. 2015: Hit .220 in 38 games. 2015 Summer League: Won the 2015 NECBL Defensive Player of the Year and 2015 Sportsman of the Year. A five-tool player.
Sean Renzi:
Hometown: Plainfield, Illinois. College: Central Michigan. Academic All-MAC, went 5-7 with a 4.70 ERA. Made 19 appearances in 2016 and threw 82.1 innings. 2015: First Team All-MAC, went 5-2 with a 2.33 ERA and 60 strikeouts. Drafted in the 32nd round by the White Sox in 2016. Assigned to the Arizona League where he went 1-1 in 16 appearances. Played Rookie ball in the Pioneer League with the Great Falls Voyagers. Released in November of 2017 after going 0-2 with a 3.28 ERA. Totaled 47.2 innings at the minor league level.
The Frontier League has changed up the All-Star Game styling; the teams will be 'Rookies vs. Experienced'. Hill and Hutcheon will play on the Rookie Team, while Renzi faces his teammates on the Experienced Team. Hutcheon will be the starting third baseman for the Rookies.
The Lake Erie Crushers continue their road for first place on Tuesday, July 3rd at Sprenger Health Care Stadium at 7:05pm. They will play until Sunday, July 8th before the All-Star break begins.
