April 16, 2018 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release
Three members of the Saskatoon Blades have been ranked on the NHL Central Scouting final list for the upcoming NHL Entry Draft in June.
Chase Wouters climbed up from his midterm ranking of 103rd to 92nd amongst North American skaters. Wouters had a career year in his sophomore season with the Saskatoon Blades posting 18 goals and 51 points in 72 regular season games. The 18-year-old Lloydminster native is currently in Russia preparing for the IIHF World U18 Championships with Team Canada.
Eric Florchuk checks in at 110th on the list after a strong 17-year-old campaign. The speedy winger mirrored Wouters on the stat sheet with 16 goals and 49 points in 71 contests split between the Victoria Royals and Saskatoon Blades.
Josh Paterson went undrafted last Spring in his first year of NHL draft eligibility but bounced back an impressive season in Saskatoon. Paterson scored 31 goals and 53 points while appearing in all 72 regular season games for the second consecutive season. In fact, Paterson's iron-man streak dates back to his rookie season having played 144 consecutive games in the WHL. Paterson was ranked 163rd on this year's final list of North American skaters.
The NHL Entry Draft is scheduled for June 22nd & 23rd at the American Airlines Centre in Dallas, TX.
