
Thrashers Prospect McKenzie Assigned to Gwinnett

Winger Ian McKenzie was assigned to the Gwinnett Gladiators Tuesday from Chicago Wolves the AHL by the Atlanta Thrashers.
McKenzie, 23, was acquired by the Thrashers in a trade with the Nashville Predators in early September. The Weyburn, Saskatchewan native split each of the last two seasons between Milwaukee (AHL - 50 games) and Cincinnati (ECHL - 64 games).
Last season McKenzie totaled five points (three goals, two assists) in 24 games with Cincinnati, and scored one goal in 24 games with Milwaukee.
The Gwinnett Gladiators 2010-2011 home opener is this Friday, October 22nd against the South Carolina Stingrays. The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
