Wheeling's Killeen Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Patrick Killeen of the Wheeling Nailers is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for Oct. 15-17.

The 20 year old was 1-0-0 with a goals against average of 0.00 and a save percentage of 1.000 in two appearances against North Division rival Toledo. He turned aside 14 of 14 shots on Friday after entering the game at the start of thesecond period and then made 33 saves in his firstprofessional start in a 6-0 win on Saturday.

Killeen, who is under contract to Pittsburgh of the National Hockey League, is tied for the league lead with a goals-against average of 0.00 and a save percentage of 1.000.

The native of Carp, Ontario was a sixth round selection of the Penguins in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

Killeen went 63-48-17 in 140 games with Brampton of the Ontario Hockey League from 2006-10. He posted a goals- against average of 2.74, a save percentage of .902 and eight shutouts with the Battalion.

Runners Up: Jean-Philippe Lamoureux, Utah (1-0-1, 2.49 GAA, .933 save pct.) and Riley Gill, Victoria (1-0-0, 0.00 GAA, 1.000 save pct.).

Also Nominated: Peter Hirsch (Bakersfield), Chris Carrozzi (Gwinnett), Kellen Briggs (Ontario), Ben Scrivens (Reading) and Jordan Pearce (Toledo).
