Killeen Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week

WHEELING, WV - The Wheeling Nailers are pleased to announce that goaltender Patrick Killeen has been named Reebok ECHL Goaltender of the Week. The announcement came from the ECHL office Tuesday afternoon.

Killeen, 20, recorded his first career shutout in his first career start, stopping all 33 shots faced in a 6-0 Wheeling win at Toledo on Saturday. In addition, Killeen stopped all 14 shots in the final two periods of Friday's 4-0 loss to the Walleye at WesBanco Arena.

The Carp, Ontario native was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins in the sixth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. He holds a 1-0 record, and is currently tied for the league lead with a goals-against average of 0.00, and a 1.000 save percentage.

Prior to Wheeling, Killeen posted a 63-48-17 record in 140 games with the Brampton Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League. He posted a goals- against average of 2.74, a save percentage of .902 and eight shutouts during that span.

The Nailers begin a three games in three day slate this Friday at Elmira, and then face the Trenton Devils on Saturday in Johnstown, PA.
