Thorns FC Announce Schedule for 2019 Nwsl Season

PORTLAND, Ore. - The National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) today unveiled the full 24-game, 2019 regular-season schedule for Portland Thorns FC. After a six-game road swing to begin the season due to completion work on the $85 million transformation of Providence Park, Portland will return to play its home opener on Sunday, June 2, against the Chicago Red Stars at 3 p.m. (Pacific) and will conclude its regular season with eight of its last 11 matches at Providence Park.

Thorns FC open the 2019 season on Sunday, April 14, as they travel to face the Orlando Pride; kickoff is set for 2 p.m. (Pacific).

Beginning July 24 against the Houston Dash, Thorns FC will play eight of their last 11 matches at Providence Park. During that stretch, Portland will play host to the North Carolina Courage on Aug. 11 and Sept. 11, while also squaring off against Chicago on Aug. 25.

A special presale for Thorns FC Annual Members, Timbers Annual Members and members of the Timbers Annual Membership Wait List will take place on March 25 and March 26. Single-game tickets will go on sale to the public on Wednesday, March 27, at 10 a.m. (Pacific). Additionally, single-game tickets for the Thorns Spring Invitational presented by Tillamook March 24-30 at the University of Portland go on sale beginning Tuesday, March 19, at 10 a.m. (Pacific) online at www.thornsfc.com.

Portland will play 12 home matches and 12 away matches during the six-month season. The nine-team league features a single table and Thorns FC will play each of their eight opponents three times during the season, including two home matches against Chicago, Houston, North Carolina and Washington.

All of the NWSL's regular-season matches will be streamed on Yahoo!Sports while international fans will be able to watch games on the NWSL app and NWSLsoccer.com.
