Houston Dash Announce 2019 Regular Season Schedule

HOUSTON - The National Women's Soccer League announced the 2019 regular season schedule today, including the Houston Dash's 24-game slate. The Dash open the 2019 season on Sunday, April 14 at BBVA Compass Stadium against Reign FC at 5 p.m. CDT.

The NWSL has shifted the 2019 match calendar by nearly a month, starting in mid-April as opposed to late March and ending in mid-October rather than in September. The league will also take a two-week break from play from June 2 to June 15 for the opening matches of the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup in France.

The Dash, entering their sixth season, return the core of the squad that finished 2018 season by winning six of their final 11 matches, including co-captain and all-time leading scorer Kealia Ohai, 2018 club Golden Boot winner Rachel Daly, U.S. Women's National Team goalkeeper Jane Campbell, co-captain and two-time club Ironwoman Amber Brooks and central midfielder Sofia Huerta.

Dash 2019 Season Ticket Memberships are on sale now starting at $192, or just $16 per game, and include tickets to all 12 Dash home games. Member benefits also include exclusive Members-only events and opportunities such as the annual Meet the Team event, discounts to the Team Store, watch parties, presale offers on international matches at BBVA Compass Stadium and more.

This season's team will be under the direction of new head coach James Clarkson. Clarkson, 46, joined the Dash in December after more than a decade with the Houston Dynamo Academy, most recently he served as the director of youth development. The Wisbech, England native has worked closely with the Dash since the team's inception in 2014 through his prior role with the Dynamo Academy.

The 12-game home schedule includes games against each of the eight other teams in the NWSL and two games each against Reign FC, the Chicago Red Stars, Orlando Pride, Sky Blue FC and the Utah Royals.

After Opening Day and a trip to New Jersey to face Sky Blue FC, the Dash return home on Sunday, April 28 to host the defending NWSL champion North Carolina Courage at 5 p.m. Houston hosts the other 2018 NWSL Cup finalist, the Portland Thorns, on Saturday, June 29 at 7:30 p.m. The 2019 regular-season home slate concludes on Wednesday, Sept. 25 against the Washington Spirit.

The road slate includes two trips each to North Carolina, Utah, Portland to face the Thorns and to Washington to face the Spirit. The Dash will play two away games on Sunday, two on Friday, seven on Saturday and one on Wednesday. The club will conclude the regular season on Saturday, Oct. 12 at Utah at 8:30 p.m. CDT.
